Both Nursery classes had a great time at Whitehouse Farm. We were lucky enough to hold and stroke rabbits, chicks, mice and even a 7 foot snake. We also fed goats, cows and sheep and bottle fed the lambs. It was a very busy day but we learned a lot about the animals. We also had a play in the soft play (the mums and dads loved playing in the soft play too) and we had a tractor ride.
Here are a few pictures from our trip.
We had a visit from Heather our Community Police Officer. She showed us her uniform and let us try it on. We also saw her warrant card and badge. We talked about keeping safe when crossing roads and never to get in a car with strangers.
Nursery went for a walk around the school grounds this week to spot signs of Spring. The children found all kinds of buds and plants and even a few creatures! They also used the camera to take photos of what they had found.
In Nursery we have been talking about Teddy Bears. We have drawn, painted, collaged and even printed teddy bear pictures. We have read lots of stories about bears. We have been on a bear hunt in the woods!(That was great fun!) We wrote invitations to ask our bears to come to school for a teddy bear picnic and made food for us to eat! We loved bringing our favourite bears to Nursery. We hope you like the photos! Next week……Goldilocks and the Three Bears!
We had a great time at our Christmas party. There was lots of dancing, games and fun. We even had a drink of juice and an icecream!
Happy Christmas to everyone
from Mrs Wigham, Mrs Bosomworth, Mrs Swinyard and Miss Weaving
We have been learning the story of The Enormous Turnip and in that story the mouse is the last animal to help pull up the turnip. We practised drawing a mouse using lines and circles. See what you think.
Today we have been talking about staying safe when we are out and about. We talked about looking both ways and checking that it is safe before we cross the raod. We also talked about how important it is to hold a grown-up’s hand and to walk sensibly whan we are out.
Welcome to Benton Park Nursery. We are looking forward to getting to know your child as they settle in. We will be taking lots of photographs of your child as they are busy in Nursery. We will also add to the blog any news or information that we feel will be useful for you. It is also a way for you to see what your child is doing at Nursery, so when they tell you they were just ‘playing’ you can see what they mean! Enjoy!
